On August 10th – 11st, 2012, Wana Thu, captain of Burmese Infantry Battalion-324, who demanded the head of villages from different places to come to Namhsan for questioning about ethnic armed groups, tortured and treated very rude to the head of villages.

A resident had said that Thme Sai village’s secretary had been beating by the captain (Wana Thu) and the soldiers dragged him very rudely until he was kick out of the room. Because he was answering behalf of his head village as their leader couldn’t speak Burmese language as well.

According to another head of the village said, “In this trial, they mainly questioned about Ta’ang national liberation army(TNLA) and other ethnic armed groups, morever they continued the point of view of residents on TNLA such as how they view on the ethnic rebel group and who are the leading of TNLA. The captain don’t stop his interogation to the head of all villages that what kind of things you get from ethnic armed groups as you all are welcome them to come into village and didn’t report about the ethnic armed groups to Burmese army.”

When the Burmese military questioned all the head of villages, they even have military camp in Namhsan they just took an action in the tea factory which belongs to Tan Htun, former Burmese captain base in Namhsan. It was the reason that they did illegal and wanted to avoid from the media as the head village mentioned.

Most of the chairmen (head of the village) were not satisfied about that condition and they were not delighted for the reason call the trail in old factory.

They took a trail in two different places at the same time as On 10 August was in North part of Namhsan and on 11 August was in Norht-East and South part of Namhsan. In Ta’ang(Palaung) self authonomy areas has over 32 groups of villages and all villages will be over 100 villages.
