On 1 June, 2008 The military base by the captain of Infantry Battalion 130, Thin Maung Win gave an order to some of his soldiers to call the truck owner to be porters for carrying their things and supplies from Mantong to a new location in order to extend their activities and set up a military camp in Man Tong Township, Northern Shan State.

Since at the end of May, all of the truck owners were informed that they will have to carry the equipments of the military camp by turning round in order to set up a new camp. There are 6 trucks having in Man Tong town and three trucks will be obligated to carry it in a day.

Each of truck will have to obligate for two days and a truck which is absent must be paid 50000 Kyat. Therefore they do not dare to disobey that order although they have to do their business. All of these trucks are full of activity in their livelihood and occupation but they could not reject their order even there is no any payment.

One of truck owner said, I am so angry with them because this is not a simple forcing and we truck owner used to be forced to carry their things very often. Like now, if we just have to carry for one day we will not be so angry like this. But, now we will have to carry their supplies for three two or three days without any payment. Even I apologized them that my truck is in repairing they don’t let me off. And if I don’t obey I must be fined 50000 Kyat for one day.

After the Palaung State Liberation Army (PSLA) has surrendered we Palaung people and area have been forced to be porter and faced other abusing by the Military government in according to make bigger and bigger their armed forces.
