(20) Lorries had detained at Muse (105) toll gate

On 8/May 2008. The North/East Command Aung Than Htute order Musa (105) toll gate personnel to arrest 20 lorries that taking goods such as cakes and snacks to Larsio, Madalay and Yagon.

“Yesterday they detained 20 of our lorries at (105) Mile toll gate and today we heard that they are continuing to arrest and detain all the lorries that carry goods such as dry food and snacks today on 9 May. The government should not take all this from us without our wish, we do want to help people in trouble but don’t force us to help we can help by ourselves. Now they want to show that they do care or help the people by their own without getting helps or aid from the international communities. However it is not good to help the people who are in trouble by forcing the goods from the traders” Said one of the traders.
